Must win....actually all games are must win!

Marlborough Vs Yeovil and Sherbourne Marlborough win 3-1
After three promising wins on the bounce Marlborough welcomed Yeovil and Sherbourne in a crunch clash for both sides in their respective bids to catch the top two in the league.
In previous games Marlborough had been known to start somewhat below par but it was clear from the outset that this would not be one of those games. Their attacking press worked fantastically, keeping Yeovil penned in and under pressure. The game had barely begun to get under way when Marlborough intercepted a pressured pass and broke away with lighting speed masterminded by forward Steve Way. Weaving his way this way and that the veteran striker set up Hamish Fyfe who thundered the ball past the Yeovil keeper. 1-0 in the blink of an eye.
Marlborough soon doubled their advantage after another canny interception followed by well placed passes allowed Keir Aymes -Headley to open his account for the 1st team this season.
Visibly rattled by the hosts play Yeovil dug in and changed their tactics and personnel in a bid to get back in to the game. They launched several well placed aerials in behind the Marlborough midfield and defence to try and exploit the space left by Marlborough’s high press. After several scrappy breakdowns Yeovil were awarded a short corner which was barged over the line, much to Marlborough’s dismay as they were sure that an infringement had occurred.
With all to play for in the second half for both teams there was a sense of anticipation that one moment of brilliance or bad luck could decide the entire game. Marlborough again deployed their defensive press brilliantly which Yeovil still could not work out. Attempted pass after attempted pass flew off the pitch due to the speed and desperate nature of the passes. The game changed in momentum numerous times with both sides looking dangerous going forward, particularly Marlborough who had several excellent chances but were not able to capitalise.
The break through finally came after a quick ball out of defence and midfield found Steve Way unmarked and after a drive to the baseline his pass found the sprinting Headley who tucked away his second goal of the game. 10 minutes to go, could Marlborough hold on? They most certainly could. With a new resolute nature that has appeared since Christmas Marlborough held firm in the face of the Yeovil onslaught and a fantastic 3-1 win was completed.
A vital double header next week, wins crucial to keep the momentum going.
