Late away game in Bath....

Marlborough Vs Bath Buccs C Marlborough win 3-1
After an excellent win the previous week Marlborough travelled to old foes Bath Buccs C for a late 3:30pm pushback. The game began with Buccs dominating and Marlborough goalkeeper Brian Marnane was called to make several sharp saves within the first few minutes- not the ideal start.
Marlborough soon found their feet and had several chances of their own which were either saved by the Buccs keeper or snuffed out with timely tackles from the Buccs defenders. The game seemed to be heading towards a goalless first half until Marlborough broke quickly down the left hand side of the pitch and a bobbled clearance from Buccs fell to Keir Amyes-Headley whose smash volleyed rocketed past the helpless goalkeeper. 1-0 to Marlborough at half time…
After several tactical changes at half time initiated by player coach Matt Way Marlborough looked much more settled and were soon penning their opposition back and stifling any attacks thrown their way. After several more near misses Marlborough doubled their lead when striker Will Hughes displayed composure and poise to wrong foot the Buccs keeper with a clever close range flick- a true strikers finish.
Buccs attempted to fight back against the Marlborough tide but the combination of youth (Euan Reid) and experience (Will Hodge) at the heart of Marlborough’s defence prevented any inroads being made.
With the advantage doubled Marlborough continued to press further and their lead was once again increased after Anil Sud scored with a reverse stick strike in to the bottom corner. With 10 minutes to play Buccs pressed ever higher and scored their deserved first of the game, was this the start of a comeback?
Marlborough held firm for the rest of the game without any further major incidents to continue their winning start to the 2015/16 season.

The Marlborough News Online Man of the Match was Euan Reid for a solid display of defending, clearly that time in the gym is paying off.
