New players, new positions, new opposition, 1 point.

Marlborough ladies travelled away to Swanage hoping to gain 3 points from the team newly promoted alongside them. With some new players and some positional changes Marlborough started strongly.

Captain Anna Scott soon started feeding balls through the midfield to the attack and before long Alex Crosby-Jones dribbled the ball around a number of defenders and struck the ball passed the keeper.

Swanage continued to press the defence but were kept at bay by Rachel Cox making some solid low tackles and clearing the ball.
Alex Crosby-Jones quickly got a second and third goal from almost solo efforts despite some questionable physical defending.

The second half favoured Swanage as Marlborough tired with no substitutes to relieve us. Swanage broke through with 2 goals from short corners and 1 from open play to equalise.

Marlborough fought to end looking for the winning goal but was unable to convert.

The Marlborough News Online Man of the match went to Alex Crosby-Jones for her hat-trick and threatening play.
