Bath Buccs 2 - Marlborough 0

Marlborough knew that it was going to be a tough match against Bath Buccs who are currently sitting towards the top of the league, but with a positive attitude and a squad of 13 we were ready to dig deep and play our game.

Marlborough came out strong, but with a well-organised and drilled Bath Buccs team the majority of the play was inside our half. Marlborough’s defence were strong, making some superb tackles and marking well they held them back denying them many opportunities, but eventually Bath Buccs scored, giving them the advantage. It looked like Marlborugh may equalise just before half time, a shot from Lottie Colquhoun was blocked by the body of a Buccs defender, however the resulting short corner strike was saved.

Marlborough regrouped at half time and came out fighting which created a few opportunities for Alex Crosby-Jones to put pressure on the Buccs defence, resulting in a couple of short corners which we were unable to convert. With Bath Buccs strong attacking momentum, they finally broke through our solid defence to score a second goal, the last of the match.

The Marlborough News Online Man of the match went to Marlborough goalie Vicky Moxham who made amazing saves, denying shots from all directions.
