Marlborough 2 go top of the league!

Going into the game we knew it was vital to gain all 3 points. Luckily, within the first 10 minutes Verity put us 1 up by flicking the ball into the goal after gaining a penalty. However, shortly after Bassett equalised catching us out on the break. Thankfully, Verity put us in front once more after Tat had a goal disallowed after it hit her legs!

During half time Pete gave us a reassuring team talk convincing us we still had the energy to win! Will and Ed Langfield also became our water boys - big thanks to them for keeping us hydrated!

Commanding, controlled and composed injecting from Vicky allowed Verity to score a cracking short corner putting us 2 goals ahead. Karen and Emily held the back line well with help from Gabbie (who kept running all game), but another Bassett goal slipped in. Amy made some superb saves keeping us in the game while Jen, Ellie, and Louisa fought hard in the middle creating a few more chances for Helena, Tat, and Verity.

Once the full time whistle blew we were relieved to have won all 3 points. Emily received player of the match for her amazing defensive work. Also, thanks to Alice for turning up for the last ten minutes!
