Corsham deliver a comprehensive defeat over Marlborough 2

From the start of the match Corsham pressured us with an aggressive attack, which we did well to defend against. However within the first ten minutes the score was already 1-0. Not disheartened by this, we went out strong, with some close shots made by Verity, with help from Millie and Tatjana. Corsham gave away multiple short corners, which we unfortunately couldn't get a goal out of. A penalty flick was awarded to Corsham which Edie reacted to quickly, and was unlucky to not save. Down the centre channel Becky made some good runs with support from Jen and Nyah to pass the ball around Corsham's mid field, but by the end of the first half the score was 5-0.

During the second half we played a very defensively with Sarah and Emily clearing the ball out of the D and providing multiple turnovers. Unfortunately we conceded multiple goals in the second half, many off deflections on the back post. Despite this we all worked hard to get the ball back up the pitch, where Verity was determined to get a goal. Even though Alex was injured in the first half, she came straight back into the second half energetic, and gave strong passes down the line which helped us push forward. A penalty flick was awarded to us, which was disappointingly not scored as the ball was stopped on the line. Corsham were a strong team and gave us a challenge to work against. By the end off the match the score was 10-0.

Hopefully next week we will still have our heads held high, ready to play again.
