Despite the cold the weather Marlborough put up a challenging game for Wootten Bassett. After the opposition took push back marlborough quickly won possession of the ball and played most of the first half in their half due to fantastic playing and communication, which won the team a couple of unsuccessful short corners , after a few minor injuries the first half finished, still with no goals from either team.
In the second half Marlborough continued playing strong although the ball did find its way into the defending circle but was always successfully cleared wide or lead to a well taken hit outs by Sarah or Katie. The team was especially good this week at getting in front of the ball and sticking to player which lead to many good runs up the pitch. Unfortunately Wootten Bassett soon managed to slip a deflection into the goal making the score 1-0. After a few stray balls flying over from the upper pitch and a hard fight to even out the score the end whistle was blown meaning an unlucky lose but well played match for the Marlborough 2s.
Well done Ellie Davis for winning player of the match.
