Shake off those Christmas Cobwebs!

For the first game back after the Christmas holiday the 2s took on Salisbury. The first half stared well with some well worked attacking play from Millie, Taty and Nyah. After around 10 minutes Verity broke through their defensive line and Ellie scored a rebound off the keeper. However, Salisbury fought hard and despite great defending from both the Katies, Emily and Gabbie the score became 1-2. Just before half time, Sarah scored with a strike from the top of the day to make the match even at half time. An exciting but tense team talk gave motivation for the second half.

Throughout the second half Salisbury managed to score another 2 goals, and we had some missed opportunities at the opposite end of the pitch. Although, Edie wonderfully saved 2 penalty strokes to keep the score line reduced! Katie and Jen were both injured towards the end of the game too, but hopefully they will recover for the next match.

Sarah and Edie both recieved the player of the match award for their excellent defending (and goal scoring!) and goal keeping respectively.
