The twos travelled to Corsham for their penultimate away game of the season. It was windy and wet but we were determined to put up a fight against an impressive team.

The match was very close throughout, with attacking play taking place quickly by both teams. Freya, Verity and Heather worked tirelessly around the top of the D to try and get the ball past the keeper but Corsham were defending well. Nyah made some excellent runs up the wing and created many more chances that unfortunately we didn’t quite convert. Helena and Gabbie also created attacking chances from their many runs up from right and left half positions. The first half ended 0-0 and we were hopeful of a goal going into the second half.
Becky, Jen and Ellie worked well together in midfield and moved the ball around the pitch with pace which began to tire the home team. Ellie even had a one-on-one with the keeper and still managed to miss the goal for the second time this season! Sarah and Alex defended amazingly at the back, and Edie made some sensational saves (including one that had rebounded off the post)! Eventually, Corsham scored a fantastic short corner and this was quickly followed by another goal. We had a few more chances, but the experienced defenders of the home side fought our fabulous forwards off.

Overall, it was a sterling team performance, and we were unlucky with the score line. The game demonstrated how much we have improved after previously losing 10-0 back in November! Jen received player of the match for her tireless work in midfield and even played upfront for a short period in the game.
