Marlborough went to Bath knowing that it would be a tough match and with only 11 players we all would have to be on our best form. We started with strong defence with Sarah Kendall and Katie King both making great tackles. Marlborough then managed to get some attacking game going, with Kitty Cleaver and Ellie Davis giving great passes to the forwards Ciara, Nyah and Anna but were unlucky with getting the ball in the net. Back at the defensive end Louisa Gostling made a fantastic stop on the ball mid air at the line, but Bath kept coming with their attack, fortunately for Marlborough goalkeeper Edie was on top form and we went into half-time 0-0.
After some rejuvenating jelly babies at half time Marlborough came back ready to attack. Unfortunately, Bath Buccs got an attacking short and managed to just slip one in. After some strong attacks from Marlborough, with Helena Clarke and Victoria Williams sending some great passes up the side lines, Bath Buccs were on the attack again and after 5 minutes of strong defence Bath managed to slip in a messy goal. Marlborough were unwilling to let our heads drop and attacked furiously again, winning an attacking short which went just wide of the post. With five minutes left Bath Buccs won another short corner which went in to make it 3-0 to them at the end of the game. Great effort from Marlborough and well done to joint players of the match Ciara and Edie!
