It was a cold start for our home game against Corsham 2. We had the excitement of half of our team being fitted with trackers before the game for performance analysis. We started strongly with an early short-corner leading to an amazing reverse stick goal from Rachel Cox. Corsham fought back and after a run from the half way they got a good goal.
After a halftime chat Marlborough was ready to continue fighting. After a period of dominance Corsham got two goals in quick succession to be leading the game 3-1. Marlborough came back into the game with created more attacking opportunities, with the ball moving well between the forwards. The inners worked hard which meant that we ended up with another short corner that got stopped on the line by a defenders foot! This meant that Marlborough had a penalty stroke. Rachel quickly stepped up to take the stroke and scored her second goal. Despite a couple of late short-corners for Marlborough, Corsham held onto the win. It was good to have so many supporters out even on a cold, wet miserable day. Well done to Shahla who deservedly won this weeks player of the match.
