A tough match with a great result!
Swindon were always going to be a tough opposition, having beaten us both home and away last year. Having said that Marlborough were feeling confident with a strong side.
The first half saw good possession by Marlborough with Caroline not even touching the ball for the first 10 minutes! However, goals were seeming a bit elusive. It wasn't until 20 minutes in that we saw our first goal. A superb cross from Rachel in mid into the goal.
10 minutes later saw Rachel having been substituted into the front line, pop another one in. This time a great piece of teamwork which saw the ball go from the back line through the mids into the circle to be crossed across goal and flicked in. A great feeling for Marlborough.
The second half saw Swindon come out strong and really pick up the pace. However, Marlborough maintained control of the game and whilst we didn't add to the goal tally we kept a clean slate.
A great final result of a 2-0 win and Matt you would have been proud with our skills around the back!
