In Memory..

It is with sadness that Marlborough Hockey Club has learnt of the passing of Don Andrews.
Don started playing hockey as his neighbour was captain of Bath Hockey Club in the late 1960’s. When his friend moved away Don joined Marlborough where he played and then umpired into his early 70’s.
The ladies section would not have existed without Don, as when they entered a team for league hockey they had to have a travelling umpire. Don stepped up and offered to do it.
He went on the hockey tours to Prague and Gibraltar, loved a Gin and his favourite evening of the year was the End of Season Dinner!
He was a lovely man and a huge supporter of the club, He will be missed.

There will be a memorial service but no date has been set.
