Marlborough Vs Minehead Marlborough win 6-2 With the first game of the new year having been cancelled Marlborough made the trip down to Minehead knowing that nothing but a win would be good enough to try and make up some ground on the higher league positions. Marlborough started the game very poorly, gifting Minehead early possession and territory which led to a rather shaky start for the visiting side. The tide was soon turned however and Marlborough started to hit their stride with accurate quick passing through all parts of the pitch which Minehead were not able to cope with. Hamish Fyfe scored his first two goals for Marlborough in quick succession after some excellent, calm and composed link up play with fellow striker Matt Way. Minehead pulled a goal back in the dying seconds of the first half to leave the game finely poised at 2-1. The second half began with Marlborough completely dominant in all aspects of the game. They created several chances and were put further ahead when Matt Way crushed the ball in to the bottom right hand corner of the goal leaving the goalkeeper no chance whatsoever. Marlborough continued their dominant play and soon the score was made 4 when captain Rich Holman took advantage from a short corner rebound to score. After some hairy moments in their own āDā Marlborough furthered their lead through Will Radnedge who blasted his shot over the on rushing Minehead goalkeeper from a particularly tight angle. A wonder strike! Anil Sud made it 6 in the last minute leaving Mine head thoroughly beaten 6-2. The Marlborough News Online man of the match was Will Radnedge. A double header next weekend and a crucial six points up for grabs.
