The Bath Buccs game was a nervous affair from start to finish; letting in two early very soft goals in the first 10 minutes did nothing for that situation either. The first half went by without any more goals however and slowly the we started to pass the ball around and show a little confidence (if Will Hughes did drag us by the scruff of the neck that way a little). At half time we agreed we were the better side and went out to show it. Soon our belief was rewarded with a slick unpracticed short corner routine neatly put away by Richard Shuttleworth. We dominated for the next 20 or so minutes playing some excellent team hockey and all doing as we were supposed to. Eventually we found our way in to the D and the ball was neatly dispatched by Ed Kendal. As we were on our way back the umpires met for a deep discussion; which continued for what seemed like an eternity. A decision was made to reverse the goal as apparently the ball had come off one of our players chests 30 seconds earlier..... This rather strange set of circumstances took the wind out of our sails completely and we promptly let in two more rather soft goals in the last 5 minutes; other than the goals all in all a good performance!- for the first time in a few games!
