Spirited performance

The Marlborough team started off with a strongly defensive set up, forcing Bath to play wide. This tactic, together with the heroic efforts of goalkeeper Selwyn Lilley kept the scoreline to 3-0 at half time, a result that the Marlborough team felt was better than it easily could have been. In the second half the superior fitness and discipline of the Bath team showed through with the game finishing 9-0. The young Marlborough players put in a great performance showing their increased confidence in the men's game.
