Marlborough B arrived for their second Bristol fixture in three weeks uncharacteristically early, only to be thwarted in their efforts to complete a thorough warm up by delays to the previous match.
A lack of preparation was evident for the opening 10 minutes. The well drilled Old Bristolian team dominated position and forced a strong save from the returning keeper, Tom Collins. Shortly after, the introduction of Wayne Cranstone and a switch to two upfront changed the outlook of the game. A couple of well worked attacks and constant pressure in the opposition half led to an opening which was swiftly knocked home by David Sanderson; with five minutes left of the half another break into the D from the midfielder put Marlborough 2 goals up at half time.
The second half was more open with chances for both teams; Marlborough had several chances down the right with Barney Pickford. Marlborough B defended well and were good value for their first clean sheet of the season.
Great team effort well done! Man of the match David Sanderson, with two goals and a great work rate.
