It was another wet/windy/snow/hail Saturday fixture at home. We were playing Royal Wootton Bassett who we beat 3-2 last time we played them. However the team that turned up this time was very different and they put us under pressure from the start. RWB dominated the mid field with much of the play in our half of the pitch. Their tactic was to always leave a player deep and this paid off when a shot into the D got a deflection off of the goal hangers stick. They scored their second in the same way so we went into half time 2-0 down. The second half was much tighter with Marlborough upping their marking and having a couple of shots on goal and a short corner. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to convert the short corner, whereas RWB were awarded a short corner 10 mins before the end and did convert it. The game ended 3-0.
