It was a cold Saturday morning at the Marlborough pitches. An optimistic ladies 2s took to the pitch with their heads held high and their sticks on the ground. Verity managed to get a stunning goal within the first five minutes, which kick-started a lively first half. Shortly after this some solid passing led to another goal scored by Ellie. Victoria made some fantastic saves which kept the opposition score down, and Verity went on to score a further two goals which put the team 4-0 up at half time.
A cracking goal from Millie at the start of the second half kept the team spirit up, and was soon followed by three more goals from Freya, Millie and Verity to put Marlborough 8-0 up. Milly then scored the goal of the match sending the ball high over the goalie's head and into the top right corner of the net. Chippenham were finally awarded a short corner and took the opportunity to attack, scoring with a straight strike on goal. Marlborough pushed hard to the very end and were awarded with another goal scored by Verity in the last few minutes of the game, for a final score of 10-1. Back home in time for tea and medals!
