On a grey Saturday morning, the Marlborough 2nds set out for their first game of the year against Corsham on home turf. After seeing a familiar face in the oppositions goal the whistle blew and the game began. Although they were 4th in the league, Marlborough held a strong defence; spending the majority of the match in their half. However one of our strikers had to sit the game off due to injury leaving the team with only one sub. After multiple short corners and shots on goal, Rachel Cox gracefully flicked the ball at goal, hitting the post, missing the goal by millimetres. The defence were skilful only letting two balls slip through into the netted kingdom, with the goalie Edie Bound making some amazing saves securing her place as player of the match! Overall it was an amazing game and Marlborough our up a great fight. The match ended 2-0 to Corsham.
