A tough defeat at Swindon

On Saturday the ladies 2s played on the brand new astro pitch at The Deanery Academy in Swindon.

The team started well, hoping to finally get some points in the league. In the first half of the game the defence stood strong, headed up by Sarah Kendall and Evie Williams at centre back. Georgie, Jodie and Marcelle all made swift attacking runs up the side-line, bouncing the ball between inners Immy & Ellie, and on to the forward line. At the end of the first half the score was 0-0.

In the second half Swindon picked up their attack with multiple shots on goal. But Emma Davies was on top form, saving all but 2 goals, and the defenders battled continuously. Teddy Dellar and Rosie Prentice made some good attacking runs to the D, and Debs James almost had a shot on goal from an injection from captain Lou Gostling. However, unfortunately we never quite managed to get a goal and therefore ending the game with 2-0 to Swindon. All in all, everyone played well, giving 100% throughout.
